Spring Mint

I've been on the look out for a great mint colored dress to add to my spring/summer wardrobe. Naturally I fell for these Tibi dresses (as well as every other piece in their spring collection).

But I wasn't loving their price tags. So when I saw this mint tier dress for $42 I snatched it up.

I haven't received it yet so I can't speak for the quality, but it looks pretty darn gorgeous to me. If I didn't already have a similar dress I would have ordered the sherbert version too.

I'm keeping my eye on Jennifer Chun after seeing her Spring 2012 collection.

I had not yet heard of her line when I received a nice note from Jennifer herself announcing that she has been picked up by Pearl, one of my favorite local shops here in Charleston. She asked me to pop in there and take a look. I, of course, was happy to oblige and let me tell you it did not disappoint. The quality is gorgeous. I only wish Pearl had picked up more of her collection for me to see.

Our new home.

Yep, call me crazy but we just closed on a new home yesterday. Actually it's not "new". It's an older (and much loved) home on one of my favorite streets in my most favorite neighborhood. I'm giddy happy ya'll. We have DREAMED of raising our babies in this neighborhood for so long.

We started the renovation today. Our architect has dreamed up a beauty of a space for us and I'm so excited to get this project rolling. Naturally I've been "pinning" inspiring home images like a mad woman. So if you're on Pinterest, which of course you are, follow me. And expect a lot more interiors related posts :)

There is such charm and love in handmade children's clothing. And B Children's Wear brings that charm in the most playful way. I love that Lindsey names many of her designs and even tells a story in each item's description. Would for sure make wearing the items that much more imaginative for children.

But seriously though, how great is that elbow patch cardigan? Unfortunately it's not available in Fletcher's size. If only I could sew...

Hoping to see some of my Charleston girls at Style Swap this Thursday night. It should be a really good time with a lot of good stuff there. To attend just buy your tickets here (or you can buy at the door for a little extra) and bring two items you want to "swap" (clothing items or accessories like jewelry, scarves...). I've gotten a lot of questions about these items, and no they don't have to be high designer! They could be from the Gap! Just as long as it's something that you genuinely like and is in good condition! I know I'm bringing these J.Crew wedges that I've only worn once. They just don't fit my foot all that well. But adorable they are.

Friday Obsessions

So I'm turning 30 next month and I desperately want to celebrate in this Lover Serpent Dress. But we have a lot going on right now, and therefore $670 dresses are not in the budget... It's pretty much perfect though. Maybe if I post it on here I'll feel minority satisfied? Maybe?

Gah it's perfection. As are these L.A.M.B May Sandals. I'm kinda crazy for them. All about the ankle strap shoes right now.

But on a happy note, I did recently acquire these pretties.

I can totally see myself wearing that Anthropologie skirt to a number of events I have coming up. And I have a feeling that leather Zara skirt might make it to Charleston Fashion Week. Now, I don't usually get too "excited" about Gap stuff, but I plan on living in that striped dress when I run errands and what not (and it comes in 2 other colors too, really want the navy/white version too). And those red slim pants... well that picture does them zero justice. They're every bit as hot as J.Crews'. The fit and quality is awesome. Oh, and Gap is having a 40% off sale right now.

RE-INVENTED: The Maxi Skirt

{Newsflash: I'm not a modeling fashion blogger so the picture below is major awkward.}

You all know that I love to shop my closet. Well one style that I don't have are those super cute asymmetrical skirts that are all the rage right now. Or, maybe I do? I've been converting my maxi skirts to this asymmetrical style and therefore switching up my look without spending the money. All I'm doing is grabbing the front of the skirt (at around the knee length) and pulling it up and tucking it into the top of my skirt. I then cinch it in place with a belt. Voila, asymmetrical hem. Best part is it's just temporary- at the end of the night my skirt is still a maxi skirt.

I'm wearing a black chiffon maxi skirt like this one. I've been known to wear my long skirts as dresses too. Here are some more versatile maxi skirts on my radar.

Kate Davis Jewelry Spring Collection

It's off the hook amazing people. No surprise though. My girl Kate Davis has long been one of my favorite jewelry designers. I've been collecting her jewels for over 5 years now. And I'd like to add some pieces from her new Tropics collection to my own little jewel collection. You do too. See...

Kate told me that the whole idea for the collection was to create jewelry that was totally inspired by the beach lifestyle. You could wear it at the beach and at the end of the day... pull off your bikini, throw on a sundress, a little lip gloss, and be ready to go out. She was dreaming of tanned skin and sun-bleached tangled hair, so the designs are pretty sexy. I'd say.

That siren cuff (bottom left of last picture) is just out of this world perfect to me. It might be my favorite piece, hard to say it's all so pretty. I asked Kate what her favorite piece is too, and like me, she had a hard time narrowing it down.

"My Favorites!!!!! - well...depending on my mood.......the RIPPLE DISCS are my everyday earrings............but the WATERFALL SHOULDER DUSTERS....are my get out of "mom mode" go to. The WATERFALLS are actually so light you don't even know that you are wearing them.....but trust me....everybody will notice them!! Of the whole collection ... My friend Tobe from Because It's Awesome is visiting today! She was so sweet to write me and offer up her writing services so I could get a little bloggy/mommy break. What she didn't know is the amazing timing she had! I read her email Friday afternoon right after the Dr. told me that Fletcher's RSV (which is basically a super bad cold and can be real dangerous for infants, especially prior preemies) was looking pretty bad and he needed to go straight to the hospital for monitoring and support. I'm happy to report that after 2 nights there we were released and Fletcher is home doing much better than he was last week!

So again Tobe, thank you so much for stopping by LLL today. I hope you all enjoy her post on brights :) I know I do!

That Would Be Me

I won't lie to you. It's been really hard the last 2 months, with this last week being no exception. We've all been sick (still are), Lilly is starting to show jealousy (can't blame her for that), and Fletcher nurses every 2 hours on average. I'm exhausted. I need the long break that I dream of that isn't going to happen anytime soon. I'm thankful to have this little space to keep me feeling glittery and shiny even when I'm still sitting in my pjs doing the momma thang. God bless ya'll for giving me that.

Here's hoping for a long nap this weekend. Happy Friday, Everyone!

This weekend I received a message from a real cute new fashion blogger, Brighton from Brighton The Day. I hadn't seen her site yet, but it's worth checking out! A fun twist is that in each post she wears a pair of shoes from her Mother's new shoe line, Dee Keller. Sweet, right?

I finally made the Trader Joe's Guiltless Brownies that have been in my cabinet for about 3 months. Ummmm, why did I wait so long? They're fabulous, and I knocked out a good portion of them last night during the Golden Globes.

And speaking of the Golden Globes here... I love Michelle Williams, but there was nothing right about that headband she was wearing (now on a positive note I liked her acceptance speech). And after seeing Kate Winslet in her Jenny Packham gown, I'm even more convinced that I do need to buy this Alice + Olivia dress that I've tried on, being thinking a lot about, and dearly want.

It's Charleston Restaurant Week and this weekend we went to 82 Queen with friends and it was fabulous. I tried their vegetable plate (something I would never normally order). One of the items was spaghetti squash which is something I've wanted to try for like 2 years now - it was so good. We're planning to make it this week.

I've been seeing so many great spaces and vignettes that utilize branches and driftwood. What a fun element to throw into your decor, whether modern, traditional, country... or ideally, a mix. So I was thrilled to recently stumble upon The Moss Woodshop. Their shop has the coolest driftwood shelves.

The Moss Woodshop handcrafts each piece using driftwood that they find washed ashore. Each listing notes which beach from where it was found, which I find to be quite charming. Don't you?

I have one of their pretty shelves on it's way to me and he's destined to be hung in Fletcher's nursery. I'm pretty darn excited about it and have been looking around at more driftwood decor ideas. 2 days ago and they are SUBLIME. Super soft, comfortable, flattering, and adorable. Did I buy? Nope. Not yet, I mean. I'm close to being back to size with a good 5 lbs left to go, but would hate to buy one size today and then 2 weeks from now wish I had gone down a size. So I'm waiting. But, these are my #1 pant to get for early spring! In either this neon persimmon or the bright papaya.

My new Society Social Draper table, that is....

I love her in all of her snakeskin goodness. When I purchased The Draper I had full intentions of it living in Fletcher's nursery. In fact, it was one of the first things that I planned to put in there. I pictured it growing with him and even heading to college with Fletcher when the time came -- what a cool dude he'd be with a swanky bar cart (does that make me a bad mother?). And it really is just amazing in his room, absolutely gorgeous. But you know what the problem is? It doesn't fit. Try as hard as I can, I just can't squeeze it in. So now she's living in our family room where we all get to enjoy her.

I had fun dressing it up with my new Sally Benedict face painting and Kate Stevenson abstract. Of course the cheeky ceramic monkey, Tilly Maison lucite tray, and Design Sponge book don't hurt her looks either. I stacked up a collection of Charleston Magazines for some extra color below. {By the way, if you're not reading Charleston Mag you really should be. And excitement alert - - - They've asked me to contribute in a really fun way starting in just a couple of weeks. I'll be sharing more details on this collaboration very soon.} Back to the Draper... over the table hangs a street scene painting that Josh and I purchased in the French Riviera a couple of years ago along with a Mike Miller for West Elm silhouette piece (do ya'll remember that collaboration?). Oh, and that little black and white vase was one of my Missoni for Target scores.

Roxy's Society Social line is pretty darn fabulous. So many cute bar carts and very reasonable prices. Plus they've got some exciting things up their sleeve for 2012, including new colors for the Draper, a full assortment of pillows, velvet upholstered headboards (hello gorgeous), and console tables, among other additions. Fletcher Graham

A couple of weeks ago Fletcher had his newborn photo shoot with my dear friend and incredibly talented photographer Gray Benko. How lucky I am to have her talent right here in Charleston to capture my children. That shot above just gives me goosebumps and I'm pretty sure I'll be blowing up that baby to hang above Fletcher's crib. I'll admit the shot is inspired by a photo I saw on Pinterest, and Gray did an amazing job of capturing our own little moment with Fletcher's Good Night Moon book. And don't you know that Lilly had to jump in on this one too :) Little ham she is. Isn't it precious??

Your Ultimate Guide To Hostess Gifts

'Tis a fun Tuesday because I have my gal pal Alesya visiting and chatting about hostess gifts. Why did I invite Alesya to chat about hostess gifts? Because I've dubbed her as THE BEST GIFT GIVER. Seriously. In the past 2 months I've received two REALLY thoughtful gifts from this sweetheart, and both made me hold my head in shame at my own lame attempts of gift giving (in a good and "I feel inspired" kind of way). So read what she has to say because she's sharing a lot of good ideas. Guarantee you'll leave here today brainstorming.

Hello LLL fans! I'm a big fan myself and honored that Chassity asked me to do a guest post.
Like me, I'm sure many of you are traveling this week or are attending a holiday gathering. The last thing on your list is the need for a little something to bring the hosts. Before you crack out yet another bottle of meaningless wine I have some suggestions.

The secret to any gift giving is to personalize. Here are a few places to get ideas:

1. Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest: People post things they like! If you were getting a gift for Chassity, you could head on over to her Pinterest page and see she loves this nail polish. Perfect.

2. Favorite Places: Does your mother-in-law love her trips to Florida? Bring her a beautiful SPF. Maybe your brother hangs out at the local watering hole. Give him your favorite craft beer. Or perhaps like our family your hosts root for one team like The Ohio State University. Then you can't forget the Buckeyes.

3. Event Help: Any hostess can use assistance as the clock counts down. If you're traveling, it's doubtful that you can bring a dish to pass, so use this trick from my Mom. Ask if you can bring the centerpiece. Then call the local florist and have it delivered before you arrive. If your family aren't centerpiece kind of people a nice large white poinsettia will also add festive touch.

4. Play Time: You can't go wrong by bringing something extra for the kids. As a parent, something small to keep them occupied but won't be messy will win me over too. My daughter is getting this sticker book to keep her busy on the plane.

5. Something Consumable: If you're at still at a loss about what to get, you can't go wrong with a gift that can be used up (aka doesn't have to kept for all eternity) and local. I love the sample pack from Charleston chocolate company Sweetteeth. My husband sends fresh local fish to his father. Anyone would adore some stationary from Sideshow Press.

Easy travels to you and your family this week. If you forget to bring a hostess gift, don't worry. I'm sure your safe arrival is gift enough!

New Diaper Bag

If there is one specific thing that my Dad spoils me with, it's pretty new bags. Such was the case when he flew in on the day of Fletcher's birth and surprised me with a new diaper bag.

He may have gotten a hint that I fancied this bag... isn't it gorgeous? I'm so in love. It's the Burberry Bridle Hobo Bag. My version is all leather, which I can't find anymore, but I like this plaid version a lot too. It has 4 different compartments so organizing is easy. My dad also surprised me with this Gucci Hysteria Tote when I had Lilly. I guess I have a thing for "non-diaper bag" diaper bags.

So what's your style? Do you (or will you for all of you non mommas) carry the traditional diaper bag or are you more like me and just make large bags work?

A Hostess Gift Idea + A Guest Post

Our New Holiday Decor

Every year at this time I find a million and one holiday decor items that I love and want to add to my home. I can't possibly get it all, but I try to treat myself to at least one new item every year. This year's addition is a sparkly one. Hey I need some sparkle in my life right now!

I didn't have any lettered decor so this Glittery Noel sign fits the bill nicely. Plus it's inspired by the Love Sculpture by Robert Indiana which I think is sweet. It measures 19 in tall by 16 in wide and is only $50. Best part, they customize any color for you! Whatever you dream up. I ordered a shimmery gold one, but think some really bright off the wall color would be fun too. I just love some glittered prettiness, and can't wait for mine to show up at our door!
